In this season of giving, ADD Systems seeks out ways old and new to give back. To continue with long-standing traditions, ADD spent the past few weeks connecting with the organizations of Sun Youth, the Pajama Program and Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. Over the years, these organizations have inspired and moved the ADD family in countless ways. Equally inspiring are newer organizations to ADD Systems: Table of Hope and House of Hope.
Sun Youth Organization
Maria Scandella, the administrative assistant of the Montreal office, recognizes that “while the holidays are considered to be a particularly joyous time of year, for some Montreal families, the winter season can be exceptionally tough.” That’s why for a decade the Montreal office has offered continuous support to Sun Youth—an organization that provides food, clothing and heating assistance to individuals living in the Greater Montreal area.
Through a six week Christmas Basket campaign for food, toys, and household items, the entire office contributes to making the holiday season a little brighter for those in their surrounding community. Last year’s donations totaled 15 new toys and 10 boxes of food and household items. Follow ADD on social media for updates on this year’s donations!
Pajama Program
As the Good Night Bill of Rights states, “The right to a loving good night is inherent and universal, one shared by all children, regardless of their family circumstances” (Pajama Program). ADD Systems began supporting the Pajama Program in 2009. Ten years later, the PJ drive is in full swing and will continue into January! Ice cream socials, brunches, and 50/50 prizes are some of the events being held this year to raise money.
Devereux Florida Advanced Behavioral Health
2019 marks the tenth year of ADD’s donation efforts to Devereux. In the past decade, it has embedded itself into the hearts of many ADD employees. The children “are the future generation of our community and need to know that people really do care about them,” says Rhonda Matlack, the spearhead of charity events at our Orlando office. Devereux is a not-for-profit provider of child welfare, behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disability services in Florida. A charity brunch, “dessert day”, 50/50 squares, and monetary donations all contribute to the Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Organization. The extent of the organization’s influence in the lives of the children in their community is extremely encouraging and each year ADD is honored to contribute.
Table of Hope
Throughout the past year, George Francy of the Flanders office has organized food drives to donate goods to Table of Hope in Morristown, NJ. Table of Hope is a part of the Spring Street CDC. Together, the organizations address economic, educational and social needs in Morris County while preserving the existing cultural and ethnic diversity all in hopes to improve residents’ quality of life. On average, the Table of Hope serves 50 meals a night. In October alone, Table of Hope served nearly 1,600 meals.
The ability to meet the needs of the community rests heavily on the organization’s supporters. The ADD family is more than happy to do their part. This year, the Flanders office collected four large boxes of food and paper products and nearly tripled their previous high in monetary donations!
House of Hope
At the Rhode Island office, Sandra Brown is organizing a pajama collection for House of Hope, whose mission is “to prevent and end homelessness in the state and end the personal and social trauma of homelessness.” Collections will continue into the New Year and will be donated to the organization in Warwick, RI.
