Roger Keyser, ADD Systems’ Vice President of Customer Support and Hardware Operations is retiring this month after 39 years with ADD Systems. In 1982, nine years after ADD’s start, Roger joined the team. That was before ADD had a customer service, implementation or IT department. It is even before we had email or our client portal. ADD Systems was a small, growing start-up, and if you needed training, you talked to Roger.
Roger came from ADD’s fifth client, John Duffy Fuel. They were located close by ADD Systems, so Roger found himself stopping by ADD’s office frequently to talk about enhancements with the programmers and president, Bruce A. Bott. One day Roger hinted at his interest in working for ADD, Bruce spun around in his chair to face him, and the rest is history.
Roger quickly went from being the only trainer on the road, to being in charge of multiple trainers, then added all of customer support, and finally, hardware fell under his umbrella as well. He was also a key member of the acquisition team when ADD purchased three different companies in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, helping to combine the teams into one. After the acquisitions, he went on to be in charge of hardware and support where he was elevated to Vice President of Customer Support and Hardware Operations.
Roger has been integral in the formation of ADD’s support teams. With his laid back personality, fun sense of humor and get-it-done attitude, he is responsible for forging a well-run, always-improving support team, one that puts the customer first and gets the job done right.
Bruce C. Bott, ADD Systems President, shared that “Roger has done an amazing job over the past 39 years. ADD customers and ADD employees have truly benefited from his expertise and his guidance. He’s done an equally phenomenal job preparing his department and all of ADD for his departure. He will be missed.”
We will miss Roger and wish him the absolute best with his retirement, a retirement that is well-deserved. We hope that he enjoys it, but we’d like Roger to return often to reconnect with old friends. The door will always be open.
