ADD Systems wishes a very happy retirement to our Vice President of Product Strategy, John Redmond.
John Redmond began his career in the energy distribution industry as a Service Dispatcher for Commander Oil. Upon leaving Commander, John took on a Customer Support role at Tymshare, a software provider for energy distribution companies. From there, he worked as a Support Representative at ICC, another energy software company, before being promoted to a Customer Service Manager. John’s next role was that of a Data Center Manager at Meenan Oil, followed by a National Support Manager position at PSS, a software provider that was eventually acquired by ADD Systems.
After leaving PSS, John decided to take on a sales position at ADD Systems, where he has spent the last 29 years, serving in a number of roles. Hired into Sales by Bruce A. Bott in 1989, John was named Southeast Sales Representative. Determined to learn the ins and outs of ADD Systems’ software solutions, John also took on the roles of Installer and Trainer.
As ADD Systems continued to grow, John was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever possible, so he has held many key positions in his career here. Some of these positions include Major Account Representative, Software Applications Specialist, Sales Manager, and Project Manager. Seeing his continued dedication to become an expert on the software, Bruce promoted John to Vice President of Product Strategy – a role he has been in since 2002.
Bruce C. Bott, President of ADD Systems, said that John has been a major contributor to ADD Systems’ growth over nearly 30 years. “John has been a vital part of our organization, and we’ve all learned a lot from him,” said Bruce. “I’m excited for John, and I predict he’ll be spending a lot of time in destinations only reachable by a cruise ship. We wish him and his family only the best with retirement.”
When asked about his time at ADD Systems, John said “I’m definitely going to miss the strategizing and the challenges, and especially the ADD Systems family, but I’m looking forward to the adventures ahead.” After over 40 years in the energy distribution industry, John is planning to travel, spend time with family and friends, and get more involved in his community.
We want to thank John for sharing his knowledge and passion with all of us over the past 29 years, and we wish him nothing but the best in his retirement. Feel free to leave your well wishes in the comment section.
