Greg Wander, Forms Account Representative, has retired after 34 years with ADD Systems.
Greg began working at ADD Systems in the late 80s when ADD Systems Founder, Bruce A. Bott, sought someone to run their print department. ADD Systems’ print department was created to provide customers with print essentials, such as delivery tickets, invoices, shift reports, tax forms, and more. Greg and Bruce had known each other because both their daughters went to grammar school together.
“I had met Bruce and Gale early on in 87. We had just moved up here,” Wander said. “We used to see Bruce and Gale at local sporting events. He knew I was selling printing in Manhattan.”
Bruce had asked Greg if he knew anybody who would be suitable for ADD’s vacant printing role. Because Greg had a long commute to Manhattan, selling print material door-to-door for many years, he was ready for a change. He said to Bruce, “Well, what about me?”
“Going to Manhattan every day or driving 3 miles to the office. It was a no-brainer.” Wander said.
Greg mentioned how even in the beginning, being at ADD Systems just felt right. He described how ADD Systems’ family aspect was always there. There was an open-door ethos that he appreciated, knowing that he could come to Bruce and Gale about anything.
“Pretty much by the end of the first week, I knew I could see myself making this a lifelong career,” Wander said. “I never really thought about it. It just was.”
ADD Systems provided Greg an outlet to grow their print department. Greg supplied clients, new and old, print products that helped make their businesses run more efficiently. To this day, ADD Systems’ print department prides itself on helping customers grow their business.
“I helped build a department without even knowing what I was doing,” Wander joked. “It’s a nice feature for a new account to come in. It made us a full-service company.”
After 34 years, Greg had many memories he could recall during his time at ADD Systems. Some of his most cherished memories are the trips he took with Bruce A. Bott, visiting clients throughout the eastern United States.
President Bruce C. Bott shared, “Greg’s dedication to ADD Systems has built the printing and forms department into a real asset for ADD and our clients. His expertise has created many happy clients over the years, and we are grateful that he leaves us with a strong print department to continue to offer great service.”
As Greg passes the torch of the print department, clients can rest assured they’re in good hands. Print Account Manager, Brian Kelly, has been with ADD Systems for two years. He came with many years of print expertise and has only strengthened ADD’s print department, as well.
“Greg has been a great mentor over these past two years,” Kelly said. “I have been in the printing industry for 20 plus years, but new to the commercial bulk fuels, heating oil, propane, HVAC, wholesale petroleum, lubricants distribution, and convenience store industries. Greg has provided me with his vast amount of knowledge and experience with his 34 years at ADD Systems. Greg is always there when needed and his guidance has been essential to my success.”
“My goal is to carry on the high standards Greg has set with his customer-focused drive and results-driven mentality,” Kelly said. “I look forward to continued success with ADD Systems to grow the print business and exceed our customers’ expectations.”
With retirement now here, Greg looks forward to being with his family in New Jersey, as well as visiting their different properties in North Carolina and Virginia.
Thank you for a great 34 years, Greg! We wish you the absolute best.
