Over the past year, we launched a new employee blog series to highlight the diverse people joining ADD Systems. With over 20 new hires, each contributes uniquely to our success. The Quality Assurance (QA) team plays a crucial role in conducting comprehensive software testing, key to delivering software that not only meets but surpasses our customers’ expectations. Dominic Laserra, ADD Systems’ Manager of Quality Assurance, said, “With the recent introduction of E360, we expanded our department to automate regression tests, hiring Manita and Daphne to work on this project. Describe your new role at ADD Systems
In my new role at ADD Systems, I serve as a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst. My primary responsibilities include designing and implementing automated test scripts, conducting thorough manual testing, and identifying and reporting bugs to ensure the overall quality and reliability of our software products.
Where are you originally from?
I am originally from Istanbul, Turkey, a vibrant community known for its rich history, diverse culture, and stunning architecture that bridges Europe and Asia.
What is your current role and what types of projects are you working on?
As a QA Analyst, my current role involves performing various types of testing, including functional, regression in the E360 project.
What is your favorite part of your job so far?
My favorite part of the job so far is the collaborative environment. I enjoy working with a talented team of developers and other QA professionals.
What are you most excited to learn about in the industry?
I am most excited to learn about the latest technological advancements and innovative solutions that ADD Systems is implementing in the petroleum industry. Exploring how data analytics, automation, and new software developments can optimize operations and enhance customer service is particularly intriguing to me.
Why are you drawn to your new role? Otherwise, how does your role serve a deeper meaning for you?
I am drawn to my new role because it allows me to directly contribute to delivering high-quality software that meets our clients’ needs. Ensuring product reliability and efficiency gives me a sense of accomplishment and purpose.
What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Dedicated, analytical, and collaborative.
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, reading books, and building Lego sets.
What is a good piece of advice to follow?
One piece of advice that I find particularly valuable is to always be open to learning and adapting. The technology industry is constantly evolving, and staying curious and willing to grow is crucial for long-term success.
Who, professionally and personally, has made the biggest impact on you?
My parents have always been a source of support and inspiration, encouraging me to pursue my goals and believe in myself.
What is a surprising aspect about you people might not expect?
One surprising aspect about me is that I have a deep interest in dubbing. It’s a fun and creative hobby that many people don’t expect from me.
What is the most important core value a company can have?
Integrity and honesty.
