Earlier this year, we started our new employee blog series to showcase all the talented people who have come to ADD Systems. We have hired 20+ people in the past year, and they all uniquely contribute to our success. Our Quality Assurance (QA) team is responsible for thorough software testing and they are pivotal in ensuring we provide software that meets and exceeds our customers’ expectations. Dominic Laserra, ADD Systems’ Manager of Quality Assurance, said, “With the recent introduction of E360, we expanded our department to automate regression tests, hiring Manita and Daphne to work on this project. Describe your new role at ADD Systems
I’m currently working as a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst at ADD Systems, focusing primarily on automation. My role involves developing and maintaining the framework for the E360 project. I create and execute automated test scripts for different components of the E360 application, utilizing manual and regression testing to identify bugs. My goal is to ensure the high quality and reliability of the E360 product by promptly reporting any issues discovered.
Where are you originally from?
I am originally from Hyderabad, India, known for its rich history, and renowned cuisine, particularly the famous Hyderabadi biryani. The city is also a major center for the technology industry, often referred to as “Cyberabad” due to its thriving IT sector.
What is your current role and what types of projects are you working on?
Currently, I am focused on the E360 product at ADD Systems, where my role as a QA Analyst involves working on automation and maintaining the framework for the E360 project.
What is your favorite part of your job so far?
My favorite aspect of the job is the opportunity to collaborate with talented colleagues who contribute to a supportive and engaging work environment.
What are you most excited to learn about in the industry?
I find great satisfaction in deepening my understanding of the E360 product, particularly in areas like user-friendly interfaces, and new technologies and enhancing overall user experience.
Why are you drawn to your new role? Otherwise, how does your role serve a deeper meaning for you?
As a QA Analyst, I am driven by the chance to ensure software quality and facilitate continuous improvements that directly enhance user satisfaction and experience, which gives my role significant meaning.
What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Ambitious, cheerful, organized.
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I enjoy listening to Bollywood music, shopping, and playing cards.
What is a good piece of advice to follow?
It’s impossible not to make any mistakes and fail at times, so we should think of every failure as a learning opportunity, especially in the field of AI and machine learning.
Who, professionally and personally, has made the biggest impact on you?
Personally, my mother’s hardworking and optimistic nature gave me immense inspiration to be where I am today. She taught me to believe in myself and we can achieve everything with a broader perception in life. Professionally, my first manager really helped me understand work culture, empathy, and communication with colleagues.
What is a surprising aspect about you people might not expect?
One surprising aspect about me is that I am good at using a sewing machine. I can make alterations, finish the edges, and add details to clothes.
What is the most important core value a company can have?
The most important core values a company can have are honesty, upholding ethical standards, and a positive work environment.
