Change doesn’t usually start with a big moment: it starts with a decision. A decision to look at how we work today and ask whether it’s still serving us as well as it could. Many of the tools and systems we need are already here. The difference comes from how intentionally we use them.
Jim Gillis, ADD’s Energy Consultant, shares a message on how we can move forward together to make our processes better and to accept change as not a challenge but an opportunity for growth.
I want to talk about something simple, but not always easy: change.
Many of you have helped build and improve the tools we’ll be discussing at the BTC.
And after working with many clients over the years, I hear the same message again and again:
“I wish we had started that sooner.”
Not because the tools weren’t available. Not because the value wasn’t clear.
But because change takes intention.
And now is the time to make that choice.
The software, systems, and best practices are already here. In many cases, they’re already in your environment.
Often, the gap between having them and benefiting from them comes down to habits.
Small shifts. Consistent use. A willingness to work a little differently.
When that happens, efficiency improves. Work gets smoother.
Teams feel less friction. And better outcomes follow, more time, more clarity, more opportunity.
But change isn’t always comfortable.
It asks us to step away from routines built over years.
Those routines served a purpose, created by smart people doing their best with what they had.
But time moves quickly.
And that gives us moments to ask:
Are we still working the way we need to work today?
If the answer is no, or even not quite, then the opportunity is in front of us.
Yes, change takes effort. There’s learning, adjustment, and new habits to build.
But all of our clients have handled harder things than learning a new process. We’ve all adapted before.
And what usually happens on the other side?
Momentum builds. Things click. And we think:
“I wish we had done this sooner.”
That’s okay. No regrets, just growth.
We can’t change the past, but we can shape what comes next.
So my invitation today is simple:
Let’s move forward together.
Let’s be open to better ways of working.
Let’s use the tools we already have more fully and intentionally.
And let’s make work more efficient, more sustainable, and more successful.
Because we’re not just implementing software.
We’re building a better way to work together.
And if we do that well, we all benefit.
So let’s take that step now!
