ADD Systems wishes Tommy Strazi a happy, well-deserved retirement after years of dedication to our clients, as well as his co-workers and friends at ADD Systems. He will be missed by all but leaves an indelible mark on all the people with whom he worked.
Tommy began his career in the petroleum industry back in 1986, when he became the controller at Bostick Brothers, a petroleum jobber in Mississippi. His first big project was to find new accounting software, and they soon signed on with PSS (Petroleum Systems Software).
It was not long before PSS realized they had found an expert software user in Tommy. Sharon Scrinzi, then in software support at PSS (current ADD Systems Account Manager) spoke to Tommy and was pleased to learn he might be interested in joining their team. After a formal interview, Tommy packed up his family and moved to PSS’s headquarters in Florida, where he began his career in training and support.
Just about five years later in 1994, PSS was purchased by EDS (Electronic Data Systems). Tommy continued as the Customer Support Manager and began to take responsibility for the training team as well. Five years passed before EDS decided to sell its energy division to ADD Systems in 1999. Tommy then became ADD Systems’ Customer Service Manager in Orlando, a role he has excelled at ever since.
Those who have worked with Tommy have always described him as a great friend and a caring person. Linda Hull, ADD Systems Application Specialist, worked with him since their days back at Bostick Brothers. She shared that “Tommy is a great boss to work with. He has been there as a father and watched my kids grow up.”
Donna Snyder, ADD Systems Application Specialist, has been equally affected by Tommy. She has worked with him since their time at EDS. “Whenever I had an issue, even if it wasn’t his area of expertise, he always had advice on how to handle it or who to contact. Sometimes I think just calling him would put a smile on my face, so I’d come up with an excuse to contact him. Maybe it was just to hear his infamous moniker ‘You’re doin’ a fine job’”.
Tommy has loved his work, but also stressed to his team that family comes first. His retirement plans speak to these values. He and his wife, Ginger, plan to spend more time with their grandchildren, all four of them, aged three to six (Ava, Easton, Mason & Zoey). Retirement will give him more time to enjoy them and more time to recuperate from their high-energy visits. Aside from that, he and Ginger plan to spend more time working in their yard, visiting some Georgia state parks, and enjoying their dogs.
Rob Culbertson, ADD Systems Senior Vice President, and COO shared that “Tommy has offered a great deal of continuity and expert support to our clients over the years, as well as exceptional leadership of his whole team. We will miss him, but are pleased that he has set a high standard of support and left a lasting impression on all those he has touched.”
Congratulations Tommy and thank you for your years of dedication! Enjoy this next chapter of your life!
