Every January, we welcome colder weather, say goodbye to the holidays, and ask the same reflective questions: what did I do well last year, and what would I like to change going forward? For businesses, it’s a time to review their successes and identify areas where they can improve their processes. If you’re not sure where to start, we asked some ADD team members what areas you can focus on in the year ahead.
Make Security and Backups a Priority
Andy Katsigiannis, Director of Operations – IT & Customer Support
Stay Ahead of Evolving Cyber Threats:
Cyberattacks continue to grow more sophisticated, targeting businesses through phishing, credential theft, and ransomware. Layered security—such as endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication, regular patching of operating systems and applications, and strong password practices—helps reduce risk and protect sensitive systems and data.
Ensure Reliable, Tested Backups:
System failures, human error, and ransomware incidents can happen without warning. Maintaining secure, regularly monitored backups—and testing them periodically—ensures your data can be restored quickly and reliably when it matters most.
Don’t Delay Upgrading Your Software
Chris Glenn, Vice President of Engineering – Back Office Products
We’re doing constant research and development on our products, based on user suggestions, industry challenges, and technology advancements. Many software enhancements come directly from our ADD User Group submissions, made up of people who work in the fuel and/or c-store industry, so they come from a place of wanting to be more efficient in their daily software practices. Take a look at all the enhancements in the release notes and consider their potential to increase your efficiency. While it’s always possible to remain status quo, implementing new features can be a game-changer for your company.
