The 2026 Business Tech Conference explored new ways to improve performance and drive innovation. Among the session highlights was the Atlas panel, where eight companies demonstrated how they turn data into actionable insights that streamline operations, increase profitability, and unify systems. This iteration of the Atlas Panel blog series highlights two panelists, Gaubert Oil from Thibodaux, LA, and E&V Energy from Weedsport, NY.
Gaubert Oil
Gaubert Oil is involved in fuels, lubricants, and chemicals, as well as managing a chain of convenience stores. They use a variety of reports to serve their day-to-day needs. One they utilize most is a Salesperson Commission Report. Commissions, by nature, are often complicated, customized, and require the collection of a large amount of data, often from multiple sources. Gaubert uses an extensive report that gathers multiple types of fuel transactions to calculate commissions from across multiple business segments. This type of consolidated report is ideal for a diversified business that pays commission on various product sales. It increases accuracy and efficiency by pulling data directly from the source and eliminating the need for any manual intervention.
Chris Phillips, Information Technology Manager at Gaubert, further expresses how his team thinks about Atlas.
“At Gaubert, we’ve never considered Atlas as “done,” said Phillips. “It’s a versatile tool that we grow and modify based on our needs. We like to get as close to a single source of truth as we can, and Atlas provides that medium. For instance, we use invoice data that has been modified to include Tanks/Raven data as a check and balance with financial reports. Additionally, the time saved from the commissions reports suite is invaluable over doing manual calculations.”
E&V Energy
In addition to gathering large amounts of data for complex calculations, Atlas is ideal for showing an accurate big picture of your operation with easy drill-down capabilities. E&V uses Atlas to view their Gross Profit by Product & Division. Reports like these provide useful metrics to monitor profit expectations for each product. Fuel types, such as kerosene, heating oil, and diesel, are displayed to see the gross profit earned from each segment.
They also use a Delivery Analysis Dashboard with robust driver metrics to give them an accurate, quick view of their delivery operation. This dashboard lets them keep a close eye on important KPIs like runouts, partial fills, zero-gallon deliveries, average drop, and projected vs. actual gallons, and they can also see this data in specific time periods for easy comparison.
