Gregg Lounsbury, Software Applications Specialist, retired from his role at ADD Systems this past month. Throughout his time at ADD, Gregg grew to become an invaluable employee, trusted partner, and devoted friend to the entire ADD family.
Gregg joined ADD Systems in 2000 as a former client. Within the first few months, he immersed himself in ADD products and proved to be a major asset to the company. As a former user of the software, his voice carried weight with customers. There was instant trust and mutual respect when Gregg was on site. His previous hands-on experience in all aspects of the industry—including delivering products, performing as a service technician, and running a convenience store chain with eight shops—allowed him to give clients real work insight on how the software would benefit their company. Within ADD, Gregg became a non-official QA person, providing feedback on new versions and suggestions for future cutting-edge enhancements based on his previous experience in the field.
Ask anyone, and they’ll agree that Gregg was a trusted advisor for many clients. He visited customers every few years to demonstrate new features added since their last upgrade. John Coyle, Vice President of Sales at ADD Systems, recalls that sometimes Gregg would pull out old notes to identify new pieces of software that would solve a wish list item a client described months (and even years) earlier! His travels to and from customers took him from Maine to the deep South and from California to Alaska. President Bruce C. Bott notes, “I’m sure there was an island somewhere in there too!”
Gregg’s knowledge of the software was unique and dynamic. While most people work in one area of the software or another, Gregg used almost every piece of the E3 software and its related products – Raven®, Pegasus®, SmartConnect® – to show customers how each piece would fit together to help their business thrive. This enabled him to create a lasting impact on the success of the company.
Gregg is and always has been a real team player. We will miss his hard work, determination, and deep knowledge about the industry and ADD products. When asked about Gregg’s role in the company, Bruce C. Bott remarked: “He’s made many friends here at ADD, and I’m sure he’s made friends with every customer we have. He will be missed. His wife, three daughters, and grandkids are lucky to be able to share this next chapter in his life with him.”
John Coyle said: “I will miss his skills and his knowledge, of course, but it’s his confidence, belief in ADD, and friendship I will miss the most. I am very excited for Gregg and his wife Jody to get the chance to travel the country and spend time with their family. He always put ADD Systems first when he was on the team and now he gets to put himself and his family first. It’s well deserved.”
Please join us in wishing Gregg best wishes in the future and congratulate him on his much-earned retirement.
