ADD Systems is proud to announce that Gale Bott, Owner and Secretary Treasurer of ADD Systems, has been recognized as one of the 2023 NJBIZ Best Women in Business. This award is given to women who have impacted the New Jersey business landscape and their community at large. Gale has been with ADD Systems since the beginning, so we’re all proud she is receiving this recognition.
During her time at ADD Systems, Gale and her family have always been there. Her husband, Bruce A. Bott, founded the company in 1973, and their children have all played a part in the continuation of ADD Systems.
Regina Balistreri, one of Gale’s daughters and the Director of Marketing at ADD Systems, was 5 years old when ADD Systems began and she vividly remembers how Gale successfully juggled work and motherhood. Gale worked part-time in the beginning, always home in time to meet her kids as they stepped off the bus. “She was very dedicated to ADD Systems but was somehow always there for us as well. She is both a great mother and role model.”
Ally Wright, Gale’s daughter and ADD Systems’ Director of Human Resources, also recalled her earliest memories of her mother working at ADD Systems:
“Amy and I were raised there. There was a crib next to my mom’s desk, and we played in there all day long. And the nice part of that was it was nicer than going home because my father refused to get cable at home,” Ally said jokingly. “We had just the regular TV stations. But in the office, we watched cartoons you couldn’t find on regular TV. My gosh, there are so many memories.”
Amy Katsigiannis, Gale’s daughter and BTC/Special Projects Coordinator at ADD Systems, mentioned how she and her family surprised their mother by nominating her for the NJBIZ Best Women in Business award without telling her. When Gale made it through the first round, the Bott family came together to help their mother make it past the final round of nominees. Amy recalled how her mother held many human resource responsibilities in ADD Systems’ early days. She also remembered how quietly selfless Gale was in being a mother, wife, and major part of ADD Systems in a way that never sought praise.
“I think we always feel very proud of our parents,” Amy said. “They’re good people. They have done a lot in their life. They’ve committed to each other. They’re good role models for us. We’re very proud of them.”
The Bott women are happy to continue what their mother helped start, making ADD Systems a business where women can thrive and find a place to call home. Within its more than 50 years of business, ADD Systems has helped women grow and contribute in roles that once were uncommonly performed by women.
“I think now it’s very common for women to have powerful roles or to be significant in a business, but it wasn’t always that way,” Amy said. “We have a business where the Owner now is female. And the Board of Directors, five out of six of them are female. That makes me really happy to know.”
ADD Systems wouldn’t be where it is today without Gale’s strength, determination, and support. To learn more about the NJBIZ Best Women in Business award, click here: https://njbiz.com/introducing-the-2023-njbiz-best-50-women-in-business/
