ADD Systems is excited to announce the addition of Nutrition and Ingredient Labeling as part of our ADD eStore® foodservice offering.
The convenience store industry is always evolving, and ADD eStore is constantly being enhanced in an effort to remain on the cutting edge. In anticipation of the pending FDA Menu Labeling Rule, which establishes menu labeling requirements for chain restaurants and “similar retail food establishments,” we are proud to announce a solution that will keep retailers moving forward, and within the guidelines, when the new rules go into effect.
The establishments that are covered by the new menu labeling rules must:
- Post calories for standard menu items on menus or menu boards
- Post calories for self-service items and foods on display on signs adjacent to the items
- Provide additional written nutrition information to customers upon request.
ADD eStore now makes meeting these requirements a piece of store-baked cake.
John Coyle, Vice President of Sales at ADD Systems, says “We have seen major advancements in our customers’ foodservice categories over the last few years. As the Tobacco category continues to feel pressure due to increased regulation, foodservice has been a shining light to regaining valuable margin and profits.” He adds, “Allowing our clients to meet the federal guidelines ahead of schedule ensures they will have no interruption in their foodservice category.”
ADD eStore leverages its own recipe building component to keep track of all ingredients included in the creation of foodservice items. From there, eStore can create all of the appropriate labels and barcodes necessary to properly display all of the required information.
