This summer, the ADD User Group (AUG) Lubricants & Warehouse Management Committee had a meeting that focused on product pricing. As the newest committee in the AUG, it already has great momentum and is the perfect place for ADD users to discuss industry challenges and share best practices. The pricing discussion was no exception, prompting a lively and useful conversation, including topics like:
- Pricing Strategy: The importance of factoring in transportation and handling costs into reference price, emphasizing the need for clarity in pricing to support sales commissions.
- Freight Cost: The choice of whether to include freight costs within the price or keep them separate to best ensure the recovery of these costs.
- Sales Team Training: Challenges in training sales staff to prioritize service over price competition, with the clarity of freight costs encouraging better margin management.
- Price Change Tools: The use of a pricing file from Atlas Reporting® to streamline price change decisions and the e-commerce process.
Like with all our user groups, members of the Lubes & Warehouse Committee come together not as competitors, but through camaraderie and commitment to their industry. With a “we’re in this together” ethos, all members can reap the benefits of collaborating through the AUG.
