ADD Systems has continued to grow in 2024. This has been showcased through our new employee series. Between software design, implementation, quality assurance, and documentation, we have covered the great ways our various departments contribute to our success. As a software company, we are indebted to the programmers who create and enhance our software, helping us provide thousands of users with the tools they need to be efficient and profitable. Kevan Patel has contributed greatly to our Mobile Development Department, working to enhance our Raven Delivery Mobile and Pegasus Service Mobile products.
“Kevan Patel has been employed in the Mobile Development department for over a year,” said Ed Debrot, Vice President of Engineering – Mobile Development at ADD Systems. “His primary responsibilities have been working with Raven and communications over Bluetooth technology. We are excited about his progress and what he will bring to ADD Systems for years to come.”
Describe your new role at ADD Systems
I am a new Junior Mobile Developer at ADD Systems working currently on Raven.
Where are you originally from?
I am originally from Jersey City and went to Rutgers for Computer Science.
What types of projects are you working on?
Mostly working on Raven’s MAUI (Multi-platform App User Interface) and contributing to our Raven application’s ongoing enhancements.
What is your favorite part of your job so far?
I like the people on my team. Any time I have a question, I feel very comfortable asking and always come out the other end learning a lot! Everyone is so helpful.
What are you most excited to learn about in the industry?
Excited to learn about all the new technologies that keep our industry moving.
Why are you drawn to your new role? Otherwise, how does your role serve a deeper meaning for you?
I’m drawn to my new role because I’m gaining so much knowledge in a real-life project with many moving parts in the coding/project structure world and am learning so much about that. I’ve always been interested in technology, and I am very happy my position lets me be so hands-on with it.
What three words would you use to describe yourself?
Curious, motivated, and flexible.
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I watch NBA basketball a lot, especially when the season starts. I used to play more sports while I was in school and years prior, and also watch more but that’s going down a little bit. I also like hiking and watching horror/action movies.
What is a good piece of advice to follow?
Pretty simple but developing good habits is very important to me. It tends to be easier to start with good habits early and keep them rather than try building them later.
Who, professionally and personally, has made the biggest impact on you?
My father is a very hard worker and that rubbed off on me a lot, otherwise my entire team at ADD Systems has been so kind and helpful. It’s been nice watching them find new solutions and how they go about the process; it has also rubbed off on me.
What is a surprising aspect about you people might not expect?
I’m not sure. Maybe that I like to travel when I can and want to see a lot of places.
What is the most important core value a company can have?
People. A company is built on people, and helping them and teaching/developing skills go a long way toward the future of a company.
